Finger painting on the cover of The New Yorker

Here is an example of why I love technology so much:

Jorge Colombo drew this week’s cover using Brushes, an application for the iPhone, while standing for an hour outside Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum in Times Square.

The Brushes application costs $4.99 and allows for painting on the touchscreen using a variety of brushes tracking your fingers. Mr. Colombo loves the app, saying that it

“made it easy for me to sketch without having to carry all my pens and brushes and notepads with me, and I like the fact that I am drawing with a set of tools that anybody can have easily in their pocket.”
